Snow - Week 4

This photo is in honor of the first snow of the season, December 7, 2009.  Hayley was so excited about playing outside and very eager about trying out her new snow suit.  I was excited to try out my new lens, an early Christmas present from Jeremy, it's an EF 50 mm 1.8.  I must say I am enjoying the ability to shoot at a much wider aperture.  I still have lots to learn but am having fun in the process.

Hayley - Week 3

I took this picture of Hayley yesterday November 19, 2009.  I tried to set up a photo shoot in our living room, I even hung up a white sheet as a backdrop but it kept falling down so I had to scratch that idea.  Needless to say I ended up getting this shot while Hayley was sitting on her little potty chair, I know of all places, right?  That seems to be the best time to take her picture!

Fox River Dam - Week 2

Last weekend we went on a family outing to look at the Fox River Dam.  We've had lots of rain over the past few weekends and figured Hayley would have fun watching the water pour over.  The dam operators let us trespass so that we could take up close pictures.  I chose this picture today because I like how the curve of the dam as well as how the background is still somewhat fallish.

This picture was taken when we were leaving the dam.  I thought the expression on Hayley's face was cute.  So much of her personality is captured by this one look.

Fall - Week 1

This was taken on October 29, 2009. I took Hayley outside to play in the leaves to wear her out so she would hopefully take a good nap, but my plan did not work. She did not nap yesterday afternoon. However, I did enjoy taking lots of pictures, taking advantage of the lovely fall colors.

I picked this picture because I like how the golden maple leaves are mixed with the plethora of brown oak leaves, giving the photo some interest. I also like how Hayley is headed off into her own little world.

I took this picture yesterday too. I saw this lonely leaf against the backdrop of the blue/white sky and thought it screamed, TAKE MY PICTURE! I'm sure I could do more doctoring of this picture in Photoshop but Photoshop makes my head spin.
