This photo is in honor of the first snow of the season, December 7, 2009. Hayley was so excited about playing outside and very eager about trying out her new snow suit. I was excited to try out my new lens, an early Christmas present from Jeremy, it's an EF 50 mm 1.8. I must say I am enjoying the ability to shoot at a much wider aperture. I still have lots to learn but am having fun in the process.

oh! I love my 50mm too; except that my D40 doesn't have a motor in the camera body, (and the lens doesn't have a motor either), so I have to do all of my focusing manually; which is so stinking hard with my three wild children
and also . . . I find that I have to be extremely precise with the focus point (surly, there is a technical way to say that . . . )
pass on tips as you figure it out!
GORGEOUS!!!!!! I, too, love my 50 mm! It's just about all I use.
